Traditional Indonesian Cuisine : BAKSO   As we already know , most people in Indonesia and part of the world, and confirmed by a poll conducted by CNN a few years ago that one of the world class of Indonesian cuisines is Rendang.

I did not kno how to translate into Englsih.  As matter of fact the Rendang is well-known all across the world and that is why the world said that the Rendang from Indonesia can be included as the most delicious food in the world.

Indonesia is rich of cuisine stories both local, national and international as well. Its time no introduce one of the most famous cuisines from Indonesia which many people here loved it, that is Bakso or Baso without "k"

The bakso is one of the most wanted among those are about 40 dishes that Indonesian people cannot live without it.  Bakso.  Even that the when U.S. President Barack Obama remembered it as one of his favorites during a visit to Jakarta a few months ago.

History Of Bakso
Meatballs have roots in Indonesian Chinese culinary arts, this is indicated by the term 'meatballs' derived from the word Bak-So, in Hokkien which literally means 'ground meat'.

Because most Indonesians are Muslim, meatballs are more commonly made from halal meat such as beef, fish or chicken. Now, most meatball sellers are Javanese from Wonogiri and Malang.

The place that is famous as the center of Meatballs is Solo and Malang, called Bakso Malang. Malang Meatballs and Solo meatballs are meatball dishes and served with Javanese.

Meatballs come from China but are different from Malang and Solo meatballs. Chinese meatballs are usually made from pork or seafood and the color is rather brown and the shape is not very round. While Malang and Solo meatballs are made from beef, gray in color and very round in shape.

Chinese meatballs are usually not served with abundant gravy in contrast to Malang and Solo meatballs which are served with abundant broth.

Bakso Is For Every one
Meatballs or meatballs are a type of meat ball commonly found in Indonesian cuisine. Meatballs are generally made from a mixture of ground beef and tapioca flour, but there are also meatballs made from chicken, fish or shrimp meat.

In the presentation, meatballs are generally served hot with clear beef broth, mixed with noodles, rice noodles, bean sprouts, tofu, sometimes eggs, sprinkled with fried onions and celery.

Meatballs are very popular and can be found throughout Indonesia; from street vendors to large restaurants. Various types of meatballs are now being offered in the form of frozen foods sold in supermarkets and malls. Meatball slices can also be used as a complement to other types of food such as fried noodles, fried rice, or cap cai.  (From several resources)
