IN the Millennial Seafood Lovers  which is the National Fish Day commemoration event which falls on November 21, 2018, the Minister of Marine and Fisheries, Susi Pudjiastuti, invites young people to eat more fish. Minister Susi explained, by consuming lots of fish there are many benefits that can be obtained. The government is indeed promoting a campaign to eat fish to the public, bearing in mind the abundant wealth of Indonesia's sea.

Fish is one type of seafood that is very healthy for consumption. Fish that are commonly found in Indonesian marine waters including West Kalimantan have a content that is low in saturated fat, high in protein, and an important source of Omega 3 fatty acids.

Edi Waluyo, S.Gz, M.Gz, Nutritionist, said that he returned to his daily diet. In the balanced diet menu guidelines, food must contain energy sources (carbohydrates and fats), building sources (protein nutrients), and regulating vitamins and minerals.

Fish are included in the source of marine animal protein which has an important role as a source of builders, because it has protein nutrients that the body needs, in addition to vegetable protein. In terms of sampling animal protein, fish contain fairly good amino acids.

The Chairman of the Pontianak Department of Nutrition Department of Health Polytechnic said that eating fish as a building source can help the formation of cell regeneration in the body. And, help the growth and development of children. This is what makes fish very important to consume.

Adults can also feel the benefits when taking it. Fish containing sources of unsaturated fats will replace the source of saturated fats obtained from meat. Omega3 and Omega6 fish are very good for maintaining and improving cholesterol levels. As long as the processing method is right.

Essential amino acids and micro nutrients in high fish make it very important to consume. If it is associated with stunting that is often experienced by children, one of the causes can be due to a lack of protein sources, because of lazy eating fish."This is what makes the minister of maritime affairs and fisheries reactivate the community to like to eat fish," Edi concluded.
